Review - Magna Carta Holy Grail

Spoiler alert:  I have a copy of this album in my iTunes, iPod and one in my car.
Do you think I like it?
Jay Z's 12 studio album was released this month and has already gone platinum.  Yes, that means Magna Carta Holy Grail has already sold one million copies.
The first song on the album starts it off with a bang.  Holy Grail featuring Justin Timberlake is fabulous and somehow they even got permission to use a sample of a Nirvana song.  That is huge.  I love that the first word you hear from Jay Z on this record is "Blue", the name of his daughter.  I don't think this is a coincidence.  His love for his daughter, his wife Beyonce and his intense passion to be a good father resonate throughout this album.  It's an obvious priority for this music industry icon.
Hova also references his success many times and I say, why not? He's earned it and if others can be inspired by his rise from nothing, keep it on repeat.
Other stand out tracks for me are Tom Ford, Picasso Baby, F.U.T.W., and Part II (On the Run).  Timbaland is credited on most tracks and I love the sound his influence brings to this record.
There is absolutely no doubt Jay Z is a master at being creative, innovative and five steps ahead of everybody else.  When you get in my car this summer, expect to hear MCHG.
