Review: Stars Dance

Now you may think I am too old to like Selena Gomez and yes, sometimes I would agree!  But I can't deny how catchy her music is, how much I love her style and how unique her voice is.  I think she is successful at maturing without being risque just for the shock factor.
Her latest album is called Stars Dance and was released this past Tuesday.  This is a departure from her previous sound which was 'Selena Gomez and the Scene'.  Stars Dance is a much more electronic, produced, club-sounding album.  It was released the day after her 21st birthday and kicks off with the perfectly placed song, Birthday.  I love this first track and have been playing it on repeat leading up to my birthday this Monday:) (Yes I realize this is kind of funny as I am turning 30. Deal with it.)
Other stand-out songs to me are Slow Down, B.E.A.T., and Like a Champion.  This sound and album to me are very reminiscent of Britney Spears' Blackout.  Also, a little Madonna Vogue.
Stars Dance doesn't slow down and it's fun to come along with Selena for the ride.
